How to wash a knit
Cold water, a towel and patience. The three things that keep a lambswool crew soft for ten winters.

Most knits are ruined in the dryer, not in the wash. Here is the routine we give everyone who buys one.
Wash less
Air a knit overnight on the back of a chair instead of washing it. Wool sheds smells on its own.
Cold and flat
When it does need a wash, use cold water and a wool soap, press out the water without wringing, roll it in a towel and dry it flat on a second towel, shaped by hand.
Fold, never hang
A hanger stretches the shoulders by spring. Fold it the way it arrived.
